Question: What is the recruitment process at Scanway and what sets us apart from the competition?
Anita Urbanska: Our recruitment process is designed to attract and retain the best talent in the industry. On a day-to-day basis, we are able to offer innovative strategies such as dynamic Q&A sessions, interactive workshops and flexible working hours. This is particularly attractive to both talented students and experienced professionals who value work-life balance. Question: How do you take care of diversity in the teams?
Anita Urbanska:. We believe that teams with rich diversity are the key to innovation. At our company, we emphasize building groups of employees with a broad spectrum of experience, paying attention to their unique competencies. We have leaders who effectively manage the team in the face of a variety of project challenges, ensuring dynamism and continuous development through regular retrospectives after each project or sprint. We value openness in communication and out-of-the-box thinking, which fosters a strong and innovative work culture.

Question: what values shape Scanway’s culture?
Anita Urbanska: Our company is based on three core values: passion for technology, constant pursuit of excellence and commitment to innovation. These values are not just empty words – they are evident in the daily activities of each of us. From collaborative brainstorming sessions to cross-team collaborations, everything we do is driven by the desire to create new and better technology solutions. What’s more, we collaborate with the best vendors on the market and constantly improve our skills during various trainings including: the use of new technologies in software: we use AI, and we also write proprietary analytical engines that later work for our clients. Soft is a very dynamic area that can’t be learned once, it requires constant deepening of knowledge and development.
Question: Can you give an example of how the company’s values translate into concrete actions?
Anita Urbanska: Of course! Our passion for technology is reflected in regular training sessions and workshops that allow our employees to explore new technologies and gain knowledge. Scanway’s employees are people who have passions, including outside of work. A perfect example is Milena Michalska at Scanway- machine learning engenieer , who, as she says, “dabbles in space technology” and after hours prints rocket models in 2D (highly recommended instagram @rakieciara !)
Question: How do you promote team involvement and passion for technology?
Anita Urbanska: We create an environment where everyone feels valuable and inspired to share their knowledge and ideas. We regularly organize internal presentations, for example. This not only reinforces our culture of innovation, but also emphasizes how much we value the commitment and creativity of our team. One example is a series of internal “Coffee with an Engineer” meetings, where Scanway engineers share their experience and build awareness of, for example, automation in software development and maintenance processes (the topic of one of the meetings). Such meetings also result in the development of good practices and cooperation between Space and Industry departments.
Question: Working for a company that focuses on a passion for technology, a constant pursuit of excellence, and a commitment to innovation, what motivates you most to work each day, and how do these values impact your daily responsibilities and professional development?
Anita Urbanska: The constant pursuit of excellence is both a challenge and an inspiration for me, and watching the technological revolution up close and searching for the people who are creating this revolution is a huge motivation for me. Passion for technology is not only a company value, but also a personal interest for each of us. In our team, we treat every project as an opportunity to push the boundaries of possibilities and set new standards in the industry. This approach motivates me to constantly develop, learn new skills and improve the ones I already have. Commitment to innovation is the value that appeals to me the most. It is extremely rewarding to work on projects that can have a real impact on the future of technology. Seeing our innovative ideas materialize into products used by people around the world makes me feel part of something bigger. All in all, I am motivated by the opportunity to continuously learn and be part of a team that not only follows the latest trends in technology, but also strives to set them. I believe that our work contributes not only to the growth of the company, but also to the competitive advantage of our clients.
