Scanway has officially become a member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) —an international organization bringing together companies, space agencies, scientific institutions, and other entities involved in the development of the global space sector. The decision to admit the company was made on October 5, 2026, during the IAF General Assembly, held as part of the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) in Antalya, Turkey.
Mikołaj Podgórski, Chief Operating Officer of Scanway, attended the session during which the vote on the admission of new members took place, representing the company at the Federation’s deliberations.

Scanway in the international space community
The International Astronautical Federation was founded in 1951 and is currently one of the most important organizations representing the global space sector. The Federation promotes cooperation between industry, the scientific community, and public institutions, creating a space for the exchange of experiences, the development of joint projects, and discussions on the future direction of space technology. It also organizes the annual International Astronautical Congress (IAC), one of the largest events in the global space industry.
Joining the IAF is part of Scanway’s international growth strategy. The company is systematically expanding its presence in foreign markets, developing partnerships with satellite manufacturers and space mission integrators, and securing new contracts to supply advanced optical instruments. The United States remains one of the priority areas for expansion, where Scanway is building relationships with industrial and technology partners.
Active Participation in the Work of the International Astronautical Federation
Scanway intends to actively participate in the activities of the IAF by engaging in industry initiatives, exchanging technical knowledge, and collaborating with other members of the organization. Issues related to the development of satellite imaging systems, advanced optical instruments, and technologies used in Earth observation and space exploration missions will be of particular importance to the company.
Thanks to its experience in the design and integration of optical, electronic, mechanical, and software systems, Scanway can contribute to the Federation’s work the expertise it has gained while carrying out projects for international clients and partners.
Membership in the IAF will enable the company to participate more broadly in international space sector initiatives, establish new business and technological relationships, and collaborate on the preparation of future space missions.
