Scanway has signed an agreement with a leading European company operating in the field of on-orbit security to develop and deliver a series of 14 flight-model telescopes, with an option to extend the order by an additional 10 models (decision by the end of this year). The contract is valued at EUR 3.7 million, rising to approximately EUR 4.9 million if the option is exercised, making it the second-largest contract in Scanway’s history. The agreement provides for the delivery of 14 flight models of optical telescopes within less than 15 months, by the end of December 2027. The signed agreement is in line with the implementation of Scanway S.A.’s updated Strategy for 2026–2028.

  • Scanway will develop and deliver a series of 14 optical telescopes, with an option to extend the order by an additional 10 flight models for on-orbit security applications, to be used in a European customer’s constellation project.
  • The delivery of 14 telescopes in less than 15 months marks the start of serial production, for which the Company has been preparing over recent quarters by investing in the expansion of its AIT (Assembly, Integration and Testing) infrastructure.
  • The value of the signed agreement is EUR 3.7 million, with payments to be made in accordance with the milestone schedule, positively impacting Scanway’s financial position in the coming periods.–

The agreement signed today with a leading European company operating in the field of on-orbit security represents a key project for us on several fronts. First, it is an order for a series of 14 optical telescopes with a short delivery timeframe of less than 15 months, marking the start of serial production, for which we have been preparing the organization over recent quarters by making significant investments in expanding our team and infrastructure, as well as purchasing equipment. Second, the project implements one of the key directions of our Strategy for 2026–2028. Third, the contract will have a significant impact on Scanway’s future financial results. Its value of approximately EUR 3.7 million is the second highest in the Company’s history and, following a potential extension, would be equivalent to our full-year revenue generated in 2025 comments Mikołaj Podgórski, COO of Scanway S.A.

Under the agreement, Scanway will develop a solution tailored to the customer’s requirements and deliver 14 flight models of optical telescopes designed for on-orbit security applications, with an option to extend the order by an additional 10 models. Deliveries to the customer will be made in stages, in accordance with the schedule set out in the agreement, with completion planned by the end of December 2027.

– We are well prepared to begin a project of this scale and with such a short delivery timeframe. We have the necessary technical infrastructure and team in place, as well as processes that ensure consistent quality across all optical telescopes. Importantly, production for the European customer will not affect the other projects we are carrying out as part of our extensive backlog. This confirms the Company’s ability not only to undertake serial production, but also to manufacture a diverse range of optical instruments for multiple applications in parallel – explains Michał Zięba, CTO of Scanway S.A.

The customer is a European space-sector company developing technologies and services for applications including on-orbit security. It works with commercial and institutional entities and participates in European projects and programs focused on the development of space technologies, including those related to security and defence.
