Scanway, a European supplier of advanced optical systems for space applications, will support Aethero’s upcoming Titan mission by providing an optical imaging system designed to operate in orbit. This solution is part of a new generation of satellites that combine high-resolution imaging with real-time data processing directly on board using AI. The Titan mission is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year as part of a SpaceX rideshare flight.

The Titan mission, developed in collaboration with EnduroSat and based on the high-performance FRAME satellite platform, is an important step toward a new architecture for space systems—ones in which data is not merely acquired in orbit, but is increasingly processed, analyzed, and utilized directly on board the satellite.

As part of the mission, Scanway will provide a space-qualified optical system that will collect data for the Aethero computing architecture. The instrument was designed to work in close integration with onboard processing systems, supporting imaging scenarios that leverage real-time analysis, lower latency, and more efficient use of bandwidth. This approach reflects a broader shift in the space industry—away from traditional models based on transmitting large volumes of raw data to Earth, toward distributed processing directly in orbit. The combination of observation systems with on-board intelligence enables faster decision-making, greater mission autonomy, and the development of new, data-driven applications in space.

“Modern space missions are increasingly dependent on how effectively they process and utilize data directly in orbit ,” said Amit Pinnamaneni, CTO and co-founder of Aethero. “Collaborating with partners such as Scanway allows us to integrate high-quality imaging systems and sensors with our platform and develop new approaches to real-time data utilization in space ,he concluded.

In this project, Scanway S.A. is drawing on its experience in adapting advanced optical components to space environments and integrating them into satellite systems.

Our collaboration with Aethero demonstrates how optical systems and onboard processing can work together to open up new possibilities for space missions. We are seeing a clear trend in the industry toward architectures in which data acquisition, processing, and analysis are tightly integrated—the Titan mission is a very good example of this trend said Mikołaj Podgórski, COO of Scanway S.A.

The Titan mission is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2026 as part of a SpaceX rideshare flight. The mission will use EnduroSat’s modular FRAME platform, which provides high power and flexibility for demanding payloads. It is focused on advanced data processing, including real-time analysis of Earth observation data, in-orbit processing, and the development of future autonomous space systems.

This project, carried out in collaboration with Aethero and EnduroSat, demonstrates our expertise in delivering optical systems for various mission architectures—from traditional imaging to the next generation of satellites based on AI-powered data processing. Collaboration with these international partners also strengthens Scanway’s position as a European supplier of key payloads for global space initiatives. At the same time, we are expanding our expertise in the acquisition and processing of optical data by becoming involved in an increasingly broader scope of the data chain – says Mikołaj Podgórski.

About Scanway:
Scanway S.A. is a Polish company that has been in business for 10 years. It specializes in the optical data chain, which includes data acquisition, processing, analytics, and event prediction based on that data. In the Space segment, it provides both hardware solutions (optical instruments, such as telescopes and cameras) and imaging analytics. In the Industry segment, it offers solutions (products) based on image data processing, including complete quality control systems. The Company’s expertise and experience in both fields are complementary and create synergies. Scanway strives to provide its customers with full access to key optical data in both segments.
As one of a dozen or so companies worldwide, Scanway has developed a complete line of optoelectronic products for Earth observation from orbit. The company carries out key contracts for space equipment in Poland and around the world, including for commercial clients. It operates STAR VIBE, Poland’s longest-operating optical observation satellite. The company’s solutions have been incorporated into the most important European and Polish space missions of 2024: among other achievements, the company deployed its equipment (Scanway Camera System) on the maiden flight of Europe’s newest launch vehicle, Ariane 6, and supplied Poland’s largest-ever telescope, weighing approximately 10 kg (SOP200), to EagleEye.
The company has completed nearly 50 quality control implementations in the industrial sector. As a technology partner to the sector’s largest manufacturers, it develops proprietary software solutions using AI and advanced applications for Industry 4.0.
On March 27, 2026, the company made its debut on the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. For more information: https://scanway.pl/
