In-space operations require continuous visual awareness to ensure the proper function of critical mechanisms and mission phases. Optical imaging systems enable the observation of satellite deployments, solar array and antenna unfolding, docking maneuvers, robotic servicing, and the condition of thermal insulation. By providing real-time visual data, camera systems help validate mechanical performance, detect anomalies, and increase mission safety and responsiveness during complex on-orbit activities.
