Scanway S.A. — a technology company in the space sector (New Space) — plans to file a prospectus with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) by the end of the first half of 2025 and make its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) this year. According to official data, in 2024 it ranked among the top companies with the highest share of trading volume among NewConnect investors, and in the last quarter it ranked 7th out of 359 listed companies. Scanway S.A. has been actively supporting the development of the space economy for many years and is now creating groundbreaking technologies. This year, the company will deliver its telescope for a lunar exploration mission, marking a landmark event for the entire Polish space sector.
Scanway S.A. is currently one of the most popular companies on NewConnect—according to investors’ portfolios—(it made its debut on that market in October 2023). In 2024, it ranked 24th in terms of trading volume. Importantly, its share of that trading volume grew steadily on a quarterly basis. Over the course of the year, the company climbed 43 spots, moving from 50th place in the first quarter of 2024 to 7th place in the fourth quarter of the same year.
– Over a year of operating as a publicly traded company on the NewConnect market has taught us a great deal. I believe that the feedback we received directly from our investors—whom we met with both at investor conferences and at numerous events dedicated to them—played a very important role in this. We view our presence on NewConnect as an important step before moving to the main market. That’s why I’m pleased that, as the only space company on the NewConnect market, we managed to become a significant part of this market—which comprises 359 companies—right from our first year. We are well prepared for the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange – concludes Jędrzej Kowalewski, CEO of Scanway S.A.
Scanway hopes to make its debut on the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the second half of the year. At this time, it has no plans to issue shares.
– When we debuted on NewConnect in October 2023, we already emphasized that we intended to list on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) within two years of that event, and we are committed to achieving this goal. By the end of the first half of the year, we intend to file a prospectus with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), and we expect to be able to transfer the company’s listing to the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) in the fall. As of now, we do not plan to issue any shares. Thanks to the contracts and orders secured in 2024, we are a self-financing entity. We will consider a share issuance only if an industry-specific investor emerges or if contracts are secured that could significantly scale up the Company’s operations. – says Jędrzej Kowalewski.
The company develops groundbreaking technologies that are used both in space exploration and in addressing global challenges. Examples include its technologies that are currently essential for studying the Moon’s surface, as well as technologies for detecting methane emissions on Earth—which are crucial in the fight against advancing climate change.
Last December, the company began a partnership with the American company Intuitive Machines—a global leader in commercial lunar exploration. The Scanway telescope will be used to map its surface, including the detection of valuable minerals using optical technology.
– The contract with Intuitive Machines for lunar exploration is a landmark event for Poland for two reasons. P A Polish company will develop and supply an instrument for a commercial mission to the Moon, which is scheduled to take place by the end of this year. Furthermore, the Polish company has been invited to build infrastructure related to a permanent human presence on the Moon – explains Jędrzej Kowalewski.
Also toward the end of the year, Scanway expanded its partnership with South Korea’s Nara Space Technology, under which the company will supply telescopes for detecting methane.
– We are part of the Korean NarSha project, which aims to create a constellation of more than a dozen microsatellites for a global infrastructure to monitor point sources of methane. This will enable the precise and rapid identification of methane emission sources, initially in Korea, with the potential for the solution to be applied worldwide in the future, which will contribute to more effective efforts to combat advancing climate change. . “I would like to add that methane is a greenhouse gas that is much more harmful to the atmosphere than CO2,” comments Mikołaj Podgórski, COO and co-founder of Scanway S.A.
